Regional perspectives on the role of science, technology and innovation for transforming food systems

Description:

The InterAcademy Partnership (IAP) with its regional academy networks brings together evaluation from Africa, Asia, the Americas and Europe to compare scientific opportunities for delivering sustainable, healthy diets. The urgency to transform food systems is increased by the growing impacts of climate change and another recent crisis, COVID-19. IAP has carried out assessments through Briefs prepared for the ‘Science Days for the UN Food Systems Summit 2021’ , drawing on comprehensive previous analysis for IAP. IAP is now inviting its member academies and regional networks to attend the virtual side event to be held at UNFSS Science Days: ‘Regional perspectives on the role of science, technology and innovation for transforming food systems’ on Wednesday 7 July, 10:00-11:30 AM CET. Sheryl Hendriks, Elizabeth Hodson, Paul Moughan, Claudia Canales and Robin Fears will present the work of the Regional networks’ works and IAP. Strengthening research and its uptake as a resource for innovation and to inform practice must be accompanied by better use of the transdisciplinary science base to advise policy making, integrated locally, regionally and globally. Please see the event agenda and the speakers on IAP web page: https://www.interacademies.org/event/regional-perspectives-role-science-technology-and-innovation-transforming-food-systems To register to the event, please follow this link. We hope you will join this webinar and contribute to discussions through the Q&A tool! With best regards
